We are a small, independent referral network connecting homeowners across the Denver south metro with vetted local epoxy garage floor installers. Here is how we got started — and what we actually do.
A few years ago, my wife and I had just moved into our house off Peoria Street in Centennial — standard 1990s two-story, two-car attached garage with a bare gray concrete slab that was starting to show its age. I started getting quotes for an epoxy floor and quickly realized I had no idea who to trust. One company quoted $800 and showed up with what looked like hardware store paint. Another quoted $4,200, gave me a sales presentation in my driveway for forty-five minutes, and could not answer a single question about what product they were actually installing. A third never called back. I spent three weeks reading forums and calling contractors before I finally hired someone I felt reasonably confident in — and even then, I did not know for certain whether the coating they used was rated for Colorado's freeze-thaw cycles until I looked up the product data sheet myself.
That experience was frustrating enough that I started keeping notes on which contractors were actually worth talking to in the south metro — not nationally advertised franchises, but the smaller local crews who knew Colorado's altitude conditions, used real polyaspartic chemistry, and showed up when they said they would. I started passing those referrals to neighbors, a few coworkers in Greenwood Village, and people I met through local community boards. Eventually there were enough of us doing this informally that it made sense to build something structured around it. That is Colorado Epoxy Floors: a referral network built by a homeowner who went through the same search you are probably doing right now, and did not want the next person to start from scratch.
We do not accept every contractor who applies. Here is exactly what we check before adding anyone to the network — and what disqualifies them.
We confirm every contractor holds a current Colorado contractor license applicable to floor coating and concrete work. We do not accept contractors who are operating under a homeowner's exemption or with lapsed credentials.
We require proof of active general liability insurance — minimum $1 million per occurrence. This protects you if anything goes wrong during installation. We re-verify insurance annually and whenever a policy is due for renewal.
We ask for three verifiable references from recent Colorado projects and request photos of completed garage floors. We specifically look for evidence of Colorado-appropriate materials: UV-stable topcoats, flexible-chemistry polyaspartic systems, and proper surface prep documentation.
This is the step most referral networks skip entirely. We ask every applicant which specific products they use for Colorado altitude conditions, cold-weather installs, and freeze-thaw-stressed slabs. Contractors who can only name big-box brands do not make it into our network.
We remove contractors from our network if we receive substantiated complaints about workmanship, communication, or misrepresentation. This network only works if the referrals are actually worth making — so we take disqualification seriously.
We focus on the Denver south metro — the communities south and southeast of Denver proper — where our installer network is deepest. This includes all of Arapahoe County south of I-225, Douglas County north of Monument, and the Jefferson County communities along the C-470 corridor.
We also take referral requests from homeowners in Denver proper, Lakewood, and communities along the I-25 corridor as far south as Pueblo. If you are not sure whether we cover your area, submit the quote form — we will let you know.
Colorado Epoxy Floors is an independent contractor referral and lead-matching network. We are not a licensed contractor, and we do not perform epoxy floor installation or any other construction services.
All installation work is performed by independent, locally licensed epoxy flooring contractors. Those contractors are solely responsible for their own workmanship, warranties, safety practices, and compliance with applicable Colorado contractor licensing, bonding, and insurance requirements. We do not supervise, direct, or guarantee the work performed by any contractor in our network.
Pricing information published on this site represents publicly available national and regional estimates. Your actual project cost will be determined solely by the independent contractor you choose to hire. Our referral and matching service is provided free of charge to homeowners. We may receive a referral fee from network contractors for qualified introductions.
If you have a dispute with a contractor, your recourse is with that contractor directly and, if necessary, through the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) and applicable local licensing boards. We encourage all homeowners to independently verify contractor credentials before signing any contract or making any payment.
